Augmented Reality Experiential Models

The sawtooth roof is used for its high surface area and to place emphasis on the experience of the architectural surface of the ceiling with the thought that all interior surfaces, but the ceiling above all, represents the area of greatest potential for architectural intervention in a paradigm of design that focuses on the outer surfaces of buildings. An inside out approach, instead, demands new forms of representation to account for the full potential of the ceiling and interior as the locus of architectural experience. Our experimental experiential model is a physical worm’s eye maquette and uses digital elements to design the conditioning of interior spaces from lighting, views to the exterior, and stimulus in the form of objects within the space. Further, it leverages basic AI to use NPC’s (non-player characters) to respond to various stimuli within the spaces of the model.
